Andreas Athanasiou might help someone if the Blackhawks can move him.

Andreas Athanasiou has moved around the league for a long time now. He is a really solid bottom-six forward that uses his speed to make an impact. He has an offensive touch to his game as well so a team looking to make a trade for someone like that might consider it.

The Hawks could use any kind of picks back so they should see what they can get for him. Honestly, a prospect that is a project or a low-level draft pick would even be worth it. At 28 years old now, he is a productive player looking to win with someone else if he can.

He is, after all the moves, the second highest-paid player still left on the Hawks but it is only three million dollars against the cap. He is the definition of a rental as he only has the rest of this year left on his deal. It is not a long-term commitment for anyone who might consider him.

The Eastern Conference is loaded with teams that are fast so he would fit right in with a lot of these teams. Seeing him get moved before the deadline should surprise nobody. If anything, it would be kind of foolish to keep him for the final few weeks of the season.
