Bears News: Kenny Golladay is available once again

The Chicago Bears are in desperate need of a wide receiver. They actually need multiple but there is one that just became available on Tuesday. It is being reported that Kenny Golladay is going to be released by the New York Giants.

He wasn’t very productive with New York since signing his big contract there. He earned that contract for playing so well with the Detroit Lions but he did not live up to it. He was often injured and didn’t play well while on the field.

He is going to be very cheap in free agency now and the Chicago Bears should take a chance on him. Of course, he might have some interest in playing with them as he is a local guy. For one, he is from Chicago, Illinois. He attended St. Rita High School.

After that, he went the Northern Illinois University where he was one of the best receivers in the country. There was a lot of success that came to NIU while he was there which was a lot of fun to watch. Now, it would be awesome to see his career come full circle back to where it started.

The Chicago Bears should consider bringing Kenny Golladay in for 2023.

The Bears don’t have much to be excited about when it comes to receivers. Golladay hasn’t played well in recent years so it isn’t like he would be this superstar with the Bears but he has proven in his career that he can be a reliable receiver when things are going well.

He had some success playing in the NFC North as well which is something that might be able to help him if he came to the Bears. He won’t have Matthew Stafford throwing to him as he did in Detroit but he might be able to help Justin Fields take big steps.

Golladay is worth taking a risk on because he is going to be healthy and cheap coming into 2023. He will also be hungry because of how things ended for him with the New York Giants.

It is going to take a while for the Bears’ WR room to get where the Bears need it to be so Golladay coming in can help them grow in the short term. If they bring in any young players from the draft, Golladay can help mentor them as well.

This is definitely a good idea for the Bears to consider this off-season as they try to take a big step in 2023.
