These 3 Patrick Kane trade packages with NYR are underwhelming

Patrick Kane might land them a pick that could turn into something good.

The Chicago Blackhawks might try to land a couple of draft picks for Patrick Kane but it is still going to be very underwhelming. The future fifth in this deal could become something good if they start to draft and develop better than they have in the recent past.

That conditional 2025 fifth-round pick could become something good though. The Rangers currently have both their third and first-round picks in that 2025 draft so that will allow this deal to work.

The Blackhawks and Rangers can work out a deal where that third-round pick becomes a first-round pick in the same draft if the Rangers make it to the Stanley Cup Final with Patrick Kane. They can also lower the bar like just appearing in the Eastern Conference Finals or something like that.

These are ways to entice the Rangers to win and give the Blackhawks a reason to be somewhat excited about what they get for the greatest player in franchise history.

We don’t know exactly when the Kane trade is going to go down but you can figure it will be soon and it will underwhelm Blackhawks fans. It is becoming a harsh reality.
