The Chicago Blackhawks are surrounded by rumors involving Patrick Kane. They are rebuilding and need to offload him if they want to get assets before he leaves in free agency this summer. Every contender in the league should want Kane on their roster right now.

Kane only had nine goals in his first 50 games and people were wondering what the problem was. Now that the trades have started to be made, Kane has been on fire. You can argue that he has been the best player in the league over the last week or so.

When the New York Rangers acquired Vladimir Tarasenko in a big trade with the St. Louis Blues, Patrick Kane spoke publically about not being too happy about it. It was clearly the destination that he wanted to pursue if he were to leave.

After that trade, it seemed impossible for the Rangers to pull off this deal for Kane. However, things have started to sound like they are back in on him despite already trading for Vladimir Tarasenko.

The Chicago Blackhawks may be moving on from Patrick Kane soon.

Patrick Kane controls his own destiny because of his no-move clause. That means the Blackhawks would just have to settle if he gives them a team that he wants to go to. They would get less than if they can talk to anyone but it is better than nothing.

On Thursday night, Vitali Kravtsov and Jake Leschyshyn were scratched for the New York Rangers against the Detroit Red Wings because of “roster management reasons”. That basically means that they are likely to get traded so they aren’t playing.

It seems as if they are making moves to get ready for a Patrick Kane trade. He wants to go there and they want him. Of course, he has been playing so well lately which has certainly helped his cause. It is amazing what motivation can do for a hockey player.

There is a framework for a deal but Patrick Kane ultimately needs to approve the move. If this happens, it is going to send shockwaves across the league as one of the best players in league history is on the move. We will know the outcome before next Friday’s trade deadline.
