The bar the top quarterback prospects must clear for the Chicago Bears to move on from Justin Fields
By Todd Welter
Will Levis has a high ceiling but is not better than Justin Fields.
The Kentucky quarterback has the arm and the physical tools that NFL scouts love. He has all the traits to be a great NFL quarterback.

He can run, too. Levis is almost like the SEC version of Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
Levis played in 24 games for the Wildcats after transferring from Penn State.
He threw for 5,232 yards and 43 touchdowns during his two seasons in Lexington. Turnovers were a big problem for Levis. He threw 23 interceptions at Kentucky and had 25 picks in his college career. He also fumbled 17 times.
He is also slow with his decision-making.
Fields has had trouble with ball security, but his NFL turnover numbers are nowhere near the turnovers Levis had in college.
Fields came into the NFL as a better decision-maker than Levis.
Levis also struggled in big games. He threw for 98 yards against Tennessee last season. He was 2-6 against Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida with those two wins coming against the Gators.
Although, Levis completed 52 of 73 passes for 398 yards and three touchdowns in two career contents against Georgia. He did throw for three touchdowns and ran for two more scores against LSU in 2021.
Levis is nowhere near being a better quarterback than Justin Fields right now. Levis can run but Fields can run better. Levis has a great arm but so does Fields.
The Chicago Bears have already failed twice with quarterbacks who came into the NFL with turnover issues (Rex Grossman and Jay Cutler). There is no need to reset the quarterback with Will Levis. Not when the Chicago Bears already have a quarterback in-house who is already way better.
