This surprise team makes the most sense for Patrick Kane right now

The Chicago Blackhawks are going to be big-time sellers at the trade deadline this year. They are amongst the worst teams in the league and have Connor Bedard on their mind. They would certainly appreciate Adam Fantilli or Leo Carlsson as well.

After scoring five goals in his past two games, Patrick Kane’s name is starting to gain a lot of steam on the trade market. Of course, the future first-ballot Hall of Famer isn’t having the best season ever but the team around him is so bad that he doesn’t have much to work with.

However, he seems to have some extra motivation following some big trades made around the league (especially since the two buying teams were on his list). He hasn’t made the decision on whether or not he wants to actually be traded but time is ticking.

Now that the Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Rangers are off the table, teams like the Dallas Stars, Edmonton Oilers, and Vegas Golden Knights sound like frontrunners if it were to happen. There are going to be all sorts of rumors floating around between now and the March 3rd deadline.

Patrick Kane deserves to go to a winning team at the NHL Trade Deadline.

One team that hasn’t been mentioned in the Patrick Kane sweepstakes is the New Jersey Devils. Despite not being linked to Kane at all, they’d actually be the perfect fit for him. They could use a right wing, have elite centers for him to play with, and are an outstanding team overall.

Instead of skating with who he has been this season, he’d be able to play with one of Jack Hughes or Nico Hischier. Hughes and Kane would make magic together offensively but Hischier might be able to allow Kane more freedom. Either way, they’d all be lethal if Kane joined the team.

We also saw how he played against the Maple Leafs (one of the two teams that passed on him) on Sunday night. How motivated would he be against the New York Rangers? Well, they just happen to be New Jersey’s biggest rival so we’d see for sure.

A New York/New Jersey playoff series in the first round is also pretty much a guarantee at this point so he’d get to play against them in the playoffs as well. That would be epic.

New Jersey has the assets needed to acquire Kane and could make the cap space work if the Hawks were willing to retain. Again, for a variety of reasons, he’d be a perfect fit in Jersey.
