Blackhawks News: Jonathan Toews releases a tough statement
It has been a long time since the Chicago Blackhawks had Jonathan Toews in their lineup. It started to become more than the time that we thought it was going to be when he first went out.
On Sunday, the Blackhawks were finally home after a long road trip. Ahead of their game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the team released a statement from Jonathan Toews. He revealed some news about his health.
He started by thanking fans for their concern. He has always seemed like the kind of guy that cares about the fans so hearing this in his statement was par for the course.
He then went on to talk about how he has been missing all of this time because of complications he is dealing with from COVID and Chronic Immune Response Syndrome which he has been dealing with for a while now.
According to Toews, playing through these symptoms become increasingly difficult so he decided to shut it down for a while.
He is clearly concerned about his health right now and wants to be back to 100 percent before he thinks about a return. He deserves to concentrate on getting healthy because that is the most important thing.
Jonathan Toews released a powerful statement via the Chicago Blackhawks.
Toews ended the statement by thanking everyone involved for being patient with him as he figures this out. Although he doesn’t need to feel sorry about worrying about his health, he is the definition of a captain.
We can only hope that Toews is able to return to the lineup soon enough. Obviously, he is in trade rumors because of what is going on with his contract expiring but his future seems cloudy because of everything that is going on.
Toews is having a solid season for the Hawks up to this point but he isn’t the top-five center that he once was. Toews is tied for the team lead in goals with 14 and he is third in points with 28.
This is one of the greatest players in team history so seeing him deal with this isn’t fun. Hopefully, this statement is followed by a somewhat quick return to what he does best.
