The Chicago Blackhawks and Carolina Hurricanes have made trades in the past.

The Chicago Blackhawks are going to be shopping Patrick Kane around for any team that he might be interested in going to. If winning is a big factor in Kane’s decision of the team to go to, the Carolina Hurricanes are a team that the Blackhawks could pull a trade off with.

These two franchises have made plenty of deals in the past with one another and now could be a time when it happens again. There are a lot of things that the Hurricanes can offer the Hawks for Patrick Kane if that conversation were to take place.

The Hurricanes are in win-now mode as much as any team in the league. They believe that they have the core in place to win the Stanley Cup so they will move assets in order to try and do that. Acquiring someone like Kane could certainly help them take another step.

That first-round pick goes in addition to two prospects that the Hurricanes really like in Ryan Suzuki and Noel Gunler.  Suzuki was a first-round pick in 2019 and Gunler was a second-round pick in 2020.

These are great players that the Hawks would love to add to the mix right now instead of losing Kane for nothing.
