Chicago Bears Mock Draft: Big OL trade, no. 1 pick lands a haul
By Ryan Heckman
Somehow, Henry To’o To’o was on the board here in the fifth round. Quite frankly, if he’s there in the fourth round, the Bears should take the swing. To’o To’o is a fairly complete linebacker and his only weaknesses are correctable.
To’o To’o is a tackling machine and his ability is certainly there to become a solid NFL linebacker. Scouting reports say he has some inconsistencies when it comes to finishing plays and not giving up in pass rush. If To’o To’o can learn to finish plays and get a bit mentally stronger, he’ll be just fine.
The physical aspects are there, and coming from Alabama, you have to believe he’s ready to be a pro.
In the sixth round, you can’t do much better than finding a three-year starter up front with plenty of positional flexibility. Nick Broeker has started 40 games for Ole Miss and played both left tackle and guard. He’s a 6-foot-5, 315-pound senior coming into the NFL as a developmental prospect.
The biggest area he can improve is in his overall strength. He does a good job getting off the line and with his initial punch, but sustaining blocks, especially in the run game, is inconsistent in his tape. Broeker would give the Bears great depth and the luxury of playing multiple positions, and with some coaching and development, he’ll flourish into a solid reserve.
