Scouting Report. Georgia. 1. player. 814. Pick Analysis. DL. Jalen Carter

Last season, the Bears were atrocious up front on both sides of the ball. Defensively, they could not stop the run to save their lives. Their defensive line also failed to get much pressure on the quarterback. In effort to beef up their defensive front, going with Georgia defensive lineman Jalen Carter at no. 4 overall is a no-brainer.

Over the past year or so. this Bears defense has taken a face lift. Getting rid of age and hefty contracts, Ryan Poles knew what he was getting himself into. It was always going to be a bad year in 2022, but that changes immediately when Carter arrives on the scene.

This defense changes from Day 1 with Carter in Chicago. He is arguably the best player in the draft, depending on who you ask. However, quarterbacks will be at a premium and Will Anderson is also there at the top. So, Chicago gets a franchise cornerstone here at no. 4 overall.

Carter is 6-foot-3 and 310 pounds, but moves so much more fluid than any man his size should be able to. He is extremely athletic for his size. He’s a disruptor in the pass game, being able to get in the face of quarterbacks by leaping extraordinarily high for his size, and getting in the back field in a hurry.

He’s a menace against the run. He’s a menace in the passing game. Carter is a true game changer. The Bears start this draft with a bang.
