Chicago Bears: 3 Chiefs free agents the team could sign

Chiefs free agents the Chicago Bears could sign: Jerick McKinnon, RB
This would not be the sexy signing. It wouldn’t even necessarily make a lot of sense. However, if the Bears wanted depth at the running back position, even if they were to bring back David Montgomery, then Jerick McKinnon would be a great option.
Look, he is going to be 31 years old in May. Running backs rarely get a contract at that age, and if they do, it’ll be most likely a one-year deal. For the Bears, that’s fine. McKinnon, when healthy, is still a highly-productive player in this league and has the ability to do it through the passing game as well.
Just take a look at his season in 2022. He finished with nine receiving touchdowns, and he didn’t even get fully integrated into the offense until the second half of the year.
McKinnon is still a threat in the open field and is such a crafty route runner for a running back. The veteran would fit real well in an offense like Chicago, and could take a ton of pressure off of Fields in certain situations; mostly third downs.
He wouldn’t cost much, and that’s simply because of his age. But, McKinnon is a sneaky value add this offseason for any team.
