Chicago Bears: Top 3 free agent offensive tackle targets for the team

Top free agent offense tackles for the Chicago Bears: Kaleb McGary, Falcons
Second, we come to Atlanta Falcons free agent tackle Kaleb McGary. This would be an interesting and fitting add for the Bears, who ran the ball better than any team in the league last year. Like Chicago, the Falcons were heavily committed to the run, and McGary was phenomenal in that aspect of the offense.
Over the course of 2022, McGary was only out-graded by Trent Williams in run blocking, via Pro Football Focus. Talk about playing at your best in a contract year, that’s exactly what McGary did. PFF gave him an overall grade of 86.6, with his run-blocking grade coming in at a ridiculous 91.6.
This is a guy the Bears could feel more than comfortable with, in blocking for a mobile quarterback and a run-heavy offense.
It was an especially motivating year for the 2019 first-round pick, after Atlanta declined his fifth-year option last offseason. McGary will be 28 years old later this month and has his first real chance to cash in off his rookie deal.
