The Chicago Bulls could trade Zach LaVine to the Dallas Mavericks, teaming up with Luka Doncic

So long as the Dallas Mavericks have Luka Doncic, they’ll always be in contention. Luka is obviously one of the best players in all of basketball, and he’s shouldered the majority of the load in Dallas since Day 1. While he’s proven to be fully capable of taking on an enormous amount of responsibility, getting Doncic a running mate would m make this Mavericks team all the more lethal.

Currently the fifth seed in the West and hovering around .500, Dallas could use the 27 points per game LaVine has been averaging over his last 10.

Because this trade would put the Mavericks over the hump and launch them into the upper echelon of the Western Conference, Dallas would be giving up three first-round picks in this scenario. One of them could come with some protections on it, which would be understandable.

The Bulls not only get three first rounders, but guard Spencer Dinwiddie and forward Dorian Finney-Smith. Dinwiddie’s contract runs through the 2023-2024 season and pays him just over $20 million. Finney-Smith is under contract through 2025-2026 with that final year being a player option.
