Michael Thomas, Power Slot, New Orleans Saints

Maybe I am cheating because he is technically not a free agent yet, but Michael Thomas would be the best value add in this class.

Nick Underhill of New Orleans Football reported that it is unlikely the Saints will keep Thomas at his current cap number.

They will either try to renegotiate a deal or cut him before March 17th, which is what I expect to happen.

It wasn’t too long ago when we were talking about Michael Thomas as a top 10 receiver. He was that true power slot that dominated the 0-20 yard range of the field.

Unfortunately, injuries have prevented from continuing his reign of terror. He has only played in 3 games in the last two years because he just hasn’t been able stay healthy.

The bright side is that he will only be 30 when the season starts and his game should age well.

The Bears would obviously have to do their due diligence on his health but there is no receiver in free agency with as much potential as Thomas.

That is why he would be the best low risk high reward type on the market. If he hit, the Bears could have themselves a WR1.

At worst, he is a complimentary option that is still providing that big slot ability that has been absent from their offense with Fields.
