Mecole Hardman, Vertical Slot, Kansas City Chiefs

Poles tried to go back to his Kansas City roots to find a starting receiver in Byron Pringle and it didn’t work out.

Why not go back to the well and shoot for a clear upgrade in Mecole Hardman?

We know Justin Fields loves to throw it deep and Hardman can stretch the field. That isn’t even the most alluring part of his game.

His career 29 forced missed tackles and 8.5 yards after the catch per reception is why he is attractive for the Bears.

The Bears have been missing that yards after the catch specialist for quite some time. Hardman can provide that element to this receiving core.

People may view him similarly to Mooney but I believe he offers more with the ball in his hands and as a gadget player.

Claypool as the big vertical X, Mooney as the Z that can move all around the formation and Hardman as the slot is a receiving core that could be enough for the short term.

Now, 5’10 187 lbs frame might be a problem in terms of blocking. But, I would be willing to look past that because everything else he brings to the table.
