The Chicago Bears could address the running back issue with this trade.

The Chicago Bears might not be bringing David Montgomery back into the fold. He made it seem like he is going to be gone after the 2022-23 season came to an end so now the Bears might be looking for some help in that regard. It would be a good idea to address that problem now.

Jonathan Taylor is one of the best running backs in the National Football League but he dealt with a little bit of an injury in 2022. He wasn’t as effective as he was in 2021 but he is still an elite player. With Montgomery potentially gone, he would be a perfect person to consider.

Having one of the truly elite running backs in the league would really help Justin Fields. Although he will always be one of the more mobile quarterbacks in the league, it would be nice if more of the rushing duties were given to the running back that is on the team.

The two first-round picks, one of them being the fourth overall pick, in addition to the second-round pick are very good compliments to Jonathan Taylor in this trade. The Bears can throw in a seventh if the Colts needed it because they are certainly giving up a haul here for the first pick.
