Chicago Bears: Evan Engram and 3 Jaguars free agents to pursue

Jaguars free agents the Chicago Bears could pursue: TE Evan Engram
One of the best stories in Jacksonville this season was the emergence of tight end Evan Engram. After five inconsistent and injury-ridden years with the New York Giants, the former first-round pick broke out with the Jaguars in the second half of this past season.
Becoming one of Trevor Lawrence’s favorite targets, Engram finished with a career-high 73 catches for 766 yards. He wound up being one of the guys who came through with a big play when the Jaguars needed it the most.
Since his rookie season, Engram was always viewed as a receiver in a tight end’s body, and this year more than ever he proved it. Engram even switched his number to 17, looking every bit like a wideout.
The Bears have Cole Kmet coming off a breakout year of his own, but adding Engram could make this offense a lot more interesting. Running two tight end sets with a pair of pass catchers like Kmet and Engram would give a young quarterback like Fields two big-time security blankets; albeit athletic security blankets.
Engram could command a decent contract, but the Bears do have money to spend. Whether they use it on a second tight end the question.
