1. Javon Hargrave, IDL, Philadelphia Eagles

Javon Hargrave is in a tier all by himself in this free agency class. There is no waiting or hoping for him to become more than what he has been because he has been nothing short of elite.

He ranks in the top 5 among interior defensive linemen in true pass rush win rate in the last three seasons and is 3rd in pressures in 2022.

His pass rush prowess and explosive athletic ability would be everything and more that Coach Eberflus could ask for in his penetrating 3 tech. He is a perfect fit.

The pushback is that Hargrave will be turning 30 next season, which doesn’t necessarily align with the youth movement the Bears are seeking.

While it would be nice if Hargrave was more of a long term piece, the Bears goal above all else should be to be competing for a Super Bowl in the next three years while Justin Fields is cheap.

Hargrave fits into that window. I would much rather pay for the elite production than pay for less because of age. That is why Hargrave is far and away the prize FA defensive lineman in this class should the Eagles let him walk.
