Chicago Bears: 3 Bold predictions for season finale against Vikings

3.) The Bears secure the #1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft
Let’s face it, the Bears don’t have a great chance at taking down the Minnesota Vikings this weekend. Most fans don’t even want the Bears to leave Solider field victorious. Here’s why.
The Bears currently hold the second overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft heading into week 18. With a record of 3-13, they are only a half game up on the Houston Texans who are 2-13-1, and the current owners of the number one overall pick.
With a loss this weekend to the Vikings, and a Houston Texans win over the Indianapolis Colts, the two teams would swap drafting order, giving Ryan Poles and the Chicago Bears the number one overall pick, and all that comes with it.
Current Houston Texans head coach Lovie Smith is known for never throwing in the towel and trying to win every game he coaches. With his job possibly on the line this offseason, he might want to show ownership that this team still plays hard for him.
The Colts are also starting rookie quarterback Sam Ehlinger, who started two games earlier this season. He looked shaky in both starts, only throwing for 121 YPG. The Texans haven’t been great defensively, but it shouldn’t take much to startle the young rookie quarterback.
There is a lot that goes into this third and final prediction, but Bears fans everywhere are hoping that Lovie and the Texans come out on top in week 18.
