A great prospect might be a good get in a Patrick Kane trade right now.

It would be cool to see the Chicago Blackhawks land a top prospect in a Patrick Kane deal. They should get do what they can to acquire something really good for him. Adding as many top prospects as they can to the organization will go a long way.

There are certain players that would be better than any realistic draft pick that they can get. One of those players is Simon Edvinsson who is Detroit’s number-one overall prospect now that guys like Lucas Raymond and Mortiz Seider are in the NHL. This would be an amazing move.

The Red Wings would be getting a player that can finally help them get into the playoffs with their young team and the Blackhawks would be getting a stud 19-year-old that could become a great NHL defenseman in short order. They could really use another young defense prospect like this.

With some of the other prospects in the system right now and a top-five pick coming, a kid like Edvinsson would really fit in nicely.

It might be hard for Detroit to part with a player like that but they can work on extending Kane as soon as he is acquired if they want. It is something to think about. That seventh-round pick is a throw-in but could really become something if they get lucky and are smart.

The Blackhawks are very bad but there is a plan in place to change that. Getting something good for Patrick Kane would certainly be a great start.
