Michael Conforto could sign with the White Sox after missing last season with an injury.

It seemed like Conforto was linked to the Chicago White Sox for pretty much all of last season. The free-agent outfielder did not sign with a team in 2022 after needing shoulder surgery.

Conforto is looking to play in 2023 and he could be one of the biggest steals in free agency. He is a career 15.7 bWAR player. He has a .255/.356/.468 slash line in seven seasons. He made the 2017 NL All-Star team.

He has hit 132 home runs in the Majors.

Conforto had a down year in 2021 when hit just .232 with 14 home runs. He still had a 106 wRC+ and a career 37.6% fly ball percentage. He will put the ball in the air. That was something Chicago White Sox hitters struggled with.

He is projected to have 117 wRC+ and hit 21 home runs in 2023.

Conforto can also play the outfield with decent results. That is all the Chicago White Sox need out of a left fielder. Someone who can field the position and possibly hits left-handed.

Conforto is coming off a major injury so there are risks. It also means he will come cheap. If he can recapture his 2017 form, the White Sox would have a really good player in their lineup. Sox management loves to have affordable good players, and all four of these provide that.
