The New Jersey Devils could give up a lot if they wanted Patrick Kane right now.

It might not be the smartest thing to do but a team might give up a lot for someone like Patrick Kane. The playoff experience that he has is incredible and can help a good young team take a big step which is something that New Jersey wants.

This would be a somewhat high-end return for Kane. None of the prospects returning are going to be stars but they all could become good players if they are put in a good situation. Of course, they’d be getting that much-needed first-round pick as well.

Shakir Mukhamadullin was, like Chase Stillman, an overdraft for Tom Fitzgerald and the New Jersey Devils. It was also an instance in which they took a risk with a first-round pick in a draft in which they had multiple.

Nolan Foote is a forward that has the ability to score but he hasn’t been able to stick in the NHL yet. We know that if he came to the Blackhawks, he’d have a better chance than with the Devils.

Reilly Walsh and Michael Vukojevic are both defensemen under the age of 23. It is going to take a while for them to be NHL-ready if they ever become NHL-ready. Guys like this are good throw-ins for Chicago as they continue this rebuild. They might hit on one or two of them through it all.

It is not confirmed by anyone in the know that the Blackhawks are going to for sure trade Kane but it is clear that it is an option for them. It is also probably a smart option. All of these trades present something different and it will all depend on what the market is at the time of the trade.
