The Blackhawks might want some high-end prospects in return for Patrick Kane.

The Chicago Blackhawks are rebuilding. They would be foolish to keep Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews. Both of them are future Hall of Fame players that could help them land some good assets in the form of draft picks and prospects.

The Boston Bruins are a team that should really consider biting at something like this. During the offseason, they found out that David Krejci was coming back and that Patrice Bergeron wasn’t retiring. With their core aging just a bit, it might be time to be all in.

This is one of the most successful cores in the league. They have won one Stanley Cup and have been to two other finals. Now, with some new blood in guys like David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy amongst others looking for their first, it might be time for a big splash.

Patrick Kane can give them that spark that they need which is why a first-round pick along with top prospects like Georgii Merkulov and Brett Harrison is worth it for the B’s. Both of those guys are good and might be able to help the Hawks one day but Kane can help the Bruins right now.

Merkulov and Harrison are clearly valuable to the Boston Bruins right now as top prospects but it is hard to see them on a Stanley Cup-winning team while Bergeron is still in his prime. Sometimes, trades like this can have multiple winners.
