3 Chicago Cubs blockbuster trades for Tyler Glasnow

A big prospect might be on the way out for the Chicago Cubs in a deal like this.

The Chicago Cubs were a bad team in 2022 but they showed flashes of greatness at certain times. They swept the eventual National League champion Philadelphia Phillies with a few weeks left in the regular season which proved that they could beat anyone.

As a result of these flashes, they might want to make a big splash trade this winter that suggests that winning is on their mind in 2023. Of course, they aren’t going to win the World Series or anything like that but they can take a big step toward building something great.

Trading great prospects like Brennen Davis, Cade Horton, and Kohl Franklin to get an elite starter would be something smart to consider. All three of those guys might be good MLB players one day but none of them could as well. It is a risky play but Glasnow would be worth it.

Brennen Davis and Cade Horton are both currently top-five Cubs prospects so that would be quite the haul for the Rays. With that, the Cubs would be getting their Opening Day starter which speaks a lot about how good Glasnow is. Everyone would be pushed back a spot with a guy like that in the rotation.
