2. Houston Astros

The Houston Astros would be a great place for Willson Contreras to land.

The Houston Astros just won the World Series over the Philadelphia Phillies. It is their second title in six Major League seasons. In every year between the two titles, they have either been in the World Series or the ALCS at minimum. It is truly a remarkable run for them.

Of course, they stay consistent because they are always upgrading their team. Well, adding someone like Willson Contreras might be a great way for them to upgrade. He would be going to try and help them win a second straight World Series with a third straight AL pennant.

They were looking to add him during the season to help out but they ended up going with Christian Vazquez in a trade with the Boston Red Sox instead. Now, however, he is a free agent too who might be going elsewhere on the open market.

Houston also has Martin Maldonado who is one of the best defensive catchers in the world. You can even make the claim that he is the number one best. He also played in the World Series with a broken hand and will have sports hernia surgery.

Adding Contreras would be a great idea for the Astros just in case Maldonado needs some extra time recovering from these injuries. Having another very good catcher might also help the Astros keep both guys fresh and ready to go in the playoffs.

It also gives them another good DH option as that was an issue for them in the postseason (not that it mattered). This feels like it would be a no-brainer for both sides.
