The Chicago Blackhawks finally lost a game after winning four in a row. This looks like a team that can become one of the worst in the league based on their roster. They got off to a good start and that was fun but they might come back down to earth very soon.

The Edmonton Oilers beat them but it took a last-minute (literally in the last minute of regulation) goal by Leon Draisaitl (and four points from Connor McDavid) to get it done. Now, you have to wonder what is going to happen next for them.

We know the stars are going to produce throughout the season and can have good trade value no matter what.

However, there are some depth players that could be traded for more right now while they are hot. These are the three to trade at this stage of the season while they’re playing very well:

1. Sam Lafferty

Sam Lafferty has been very good to start his Chicago Blackhawks season.

The Chicago Blackhawks have seen some great play from Sam Lafferty so far this season. Through seven games so far this season, he has two goals and three assists for five points. That is not bad production at all for a player that gets just under 15 minutes per game.

He has been incredible on the penalty kill as both of his goals were short-handed. That is the type of player that a Stanley Cup contender might pay a lot for. He provides a fair amount of value as a depth piece.

Lafferty is 27 years old so it isn’t like he is a part of the big future plans so if a team is willing to give up something of value for him. The future needs to be the main priority of this team and getting something for him might help him.
