Shohei Ohtani is the most gifted player in the history of Major League Baseball. The guy literally is a starting pitcher that throws 100 miles per hour with incredible breaking stuff. In addition to that, he is one of the league’s best hitters that can hit anywhere from 30-50 home runs in a season.

You don’t find those types of players more than once every 100 years, literally. He has taken the league by storm since coming in but his team, the Los Angeles Angels, has remained one of the worst in the American League. That is not good for the game.

It makes it even worse when you remember the guy that plays centerfield for them is Mike Trout who has been one of the game’s greatest players ever throughout his career. Not being able to figure it out with these two is mind-numbing.

Ohtani returned to Japan and was very critical of his team. It is very surprising to hear because he is always in the best mood and never has anything negative to say. The fact that he says that he has a negative impression is not good news for that organization.

Shohei Ohtani might find his way out of Los Angeles before the next year begins.

There were trade rumors surrounding his name all season long but nothing ever came of it. The two-way superstar is scheduled to make 30 million dollars next season which is a major upgrade from the total that he had in 2022. However, we don’t know which team will be paying him that.

One team that might be able to make him happy is the Chicago Cubs. They have a lot of great trade assets to go with a team that might be able to make some noise with a big off-season. Of course, they could use an elite starter that is also an elite hitter.

There is also a DH in the National League now which makes them more attractive to him than when he first came over from Japan. If the Angels (with their new ownership coming in and all the changes that they are going to make) put Ohtani on the block, the Cubs should consider it.

He clearly is looking to be on a team that wants to win. Making a big trade like that would tell the world that the Cubs are trying to win again. There are going to be a lot of teams calling to check in on his status with the club so you just never know what happens.
