The Chicago Bears could turn this idea into something that really helps them.

The Chicago Bears really need to make some moves soon. Their offense is so bad and it is starting to hurt Justin Fields. There are times when his confidence looks shaken as a result of certain plays not going his way.

In week six against the Washington Commanders, they actually gained a lot of yards between both the run game and the passing game. However, almost all of their appearances in the red zone resulted in either a field goal or no points. That is not good enough in the NFL.

If they had someone like Christian McCaffrey, some of those red-zone appearances would have had different results. Fields would also be under less pressure because McCaffrey would command more touches than the backs currently on the Bears roster.

David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert are talented and productive players but neither of them is as dynamic as McCaffrey. In this trade scenario, Herbert goes back to Carolina so they can have someone to replace him on a much lesser scale.

Two first-round picks might be what it takes as well which is risky but necessary if they (or anyone) wanted to get it done. Carolina seems to want that in return for their star running back.

Once again, this is a trade that is so unlikely to happen because the Bears have two other running backs that are capable. They also have other needs on offense. However, when it comes to developing Justin Fields, everything should be on the table.
