The Chicago Blackhawks have plenty of time before home opener
The Chicago Blackhawks are off to a 1-2-0 start which is nice considering that they went down 0-2 in that one win that they have over the San Jose Sharks. Thier two losses are also against the Vegas Golden Knights and Colorado Avalanche who are two of the best teams in the western conference.
It isn’t going to be an easy season for Chicago as they have a bad roster. Besides Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, and Seth Jones, there isn’t anybody on this team that should be considered an above-average player on a regular basis which is not a recipe for success.
When they start making some big trades to acquire future assets, things are only going to get worse in terms of wins and losses. With all of that in mind, they are in a better spot right now than they were when Stan Bowman first stepped down.
Kyle Davidson has done amazing things to bring in more high draft picks, good prospects, and a plan on how they are going to fix this. All of that should keep fans interested in the team as they have the motivation to get back to their winning ways.
There is plenty of time before the Chicago Blackhawks home opener on Friday.
The fans are going to be able to see the team for the first time since the spring which is certainly exciting. They are also going to be seeing a team that is well-rested. After three games in a short span on the west coast to begin the season, there is a lot of time off.
The win on Saturday night against San Jose was their last game before Friday’s home opener so there is plenty of time for them to be ready. Their opponent in the Detroit Red Wings play on Monday night against the Los Angeles Kings and then will be off until Friday as well.
Detroit brings a lot of different challenges after a big offseason which is why they are 2-0-0 to start the season. It is a rivalry game to kick off the home slate of the schedule which will also be lots of fun.
This home opener might be a special one for Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews who are two of the five greatest players to ever put on that sweater.
It could be the last time that they are introduced in a home opener at the United Center so that should be fun. Despite the state of the team, it should be fun to watch this first game. Hopefully, the time off gives them a chance to win.
