The Chicago White Sox need to make sure Tony La Russa does not return for next season

The Chicago White Sox owner needs to let his general manger hire a manager of his choice
It is time for Jerry Reinsdorf to face the facts that trying to make amends was a bad idea. Firing La Russa in 1986 proved to be a bad idea but rehiring him in 2020 proved to be an even worse idea.
La Russa’s second go around showed that the game had changed and La Russa was not ready to change with it. It also jeopardized his health.
There are calls for general manager Rick Hahn to be fired. While he did put together a flawed roster that fell way short of expectations, he did compile the talent that has the Sox in a competitive window.
Hahn also did not want to hire La Russa. It also seems like La Russa may have had more power than Hahn. That probably came with the fact that Jerry and Tony have a strong relationship and Reinsdorf wanted to win another World Series with La Russa leading the way.
It never happened and the chances of that happening appear to be slim and none.
Hahn should be given the chance to see what the core of Dylan Cease, Michael Kopech, Eloy Jimenez, Luis Robert, Andrew Vaughn, and Tim Anderson can do with a manager of Hahn’s choosing.
Hahn needs to make some roster changes to fix the defense and a lineup that features at least five players that are better suited to be designated hitters or play first base.
There is no disputing this season is a disappointment and change is needed. It is not at that point of purging the entire front office yet. Instead, the first change should be a new manager and then see if that can fix a lot of the team’s problems.
