Ryan Poles deserves blame for another Chicago Bears loss in Green Bay

When it all comes down to it, the fact of the matter was that the Bears did not have enough talent to hang with the Packers. It was pretty evident.

Through two games, the Bears’ top two receiving options, Darnell Mooney and Cole Kmet, have a combined four targets, one catch and four receiving yards. Whether or not Getsy has been scheming them open is irrelevant. What’s abundantly clear is the fact that the Bears do not have enough weapons for opposing defenses to respect them.

All the Packers had to do was ensure that Mooney and Kmet didn’t get open and they knew they’d be able to hold the Bears’ offense in check. Equanimeous St. Brown and Dante Pettis had some fun moments in the rain last week, but they have done nothing to prove that they must be respected.

When looking at the offensive line, Sam Mustipher and Larry Borom were horrific. Now, when Lucas Patrick is finally 100 percent and can take over for Mustipher, the line will look a bit better. But, Borom is not the answer at right tackle. That looked all but certain Sunday night. He was terrible.

Lastly, Poles’ first draft pick as a Bears general manager came into question against the Packers. Rookie cornerback Kyler Gordon probably played the worst game of his life, getting picked on over and over again — and was beaten, over and over again.

Must Read. The Packers continue to embarrass the Bears. light

Instead of potentially taking an offensive player, Poles went with Gordon — and after this game, he’ll be questioned plenty because of that decision.
