2. The Chicago Bears’ defensive line matched the San Francisco 49ers’ level of play

One of the main concerns, heading into this one, was that of the 49ers’ front seven against the Bears offensive line. Chicago did not have the talent to contain the likes of Nick Bosa and company, but they made it work.

What Bears fans may not have expected was for Chicago’s defensive line to match the energy of San Francisco’s. Robert Quinn, Al-Quadin Muhammad, Trevis Gipson and the rookie Dominique Robinson were in the face of Lance all afternoon.

The Bears made Lance consistently uncomfortable, and it was all thanks to that defensive line putting in the work.

The rookie, Robinson, had a breakout game as the first of his pro career. Robinson was second on the team in tackles with seven, including five solo, and finished with 1.5 sacks and a tackle for loss. It was a stellar performance from the fifth-round pick, who constantly garnered pressure in the face of Lance.

The 49ers’ strength, up front, is within their offensive tackles. However, the Bears were able to overcome and force Lance into many uncomfortable situations.

We expected the 49ers’ defensive line to be great, but the Bears matched.
