The New York Rangers could consider parting ways with two first-round picks.

The Chicago Blackhawks are going to be pretty bad and trading Patrick Kane away would obviously make them even worse than they already are. That is why they might consider sending him away for a couple of first-round picks and consider those of the highest value.

We saw that the Hawks were first-round pick hungry in the last draft as they went into the draft week with none and ended up with three. That is the best way to add outstanding young kids to the organization so you can try to develop them into impactful players.

In this mock trade, two first-round picks (2023 and 2024) are coming to Chicago. New York is probably going to be pretty good in both seasons so they won’t be high-end first-round picks but great players will certainly be available at those points in the draft.

Kaapo Kakko is an interesting player that the Chicago Blackhawks could try to fix in their organization. He was the second overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft and has not been very good in the NHL. A fresh change of scenery for him and going to Chicago in a Patrick Kane deal could help him, the Hawks, and the Rangers.
