The Chicago Blackhawks could land extra first-round picks for Patrick Kane.

It is clear that Kyle Davidson loves first-round picks and he hasn’t even been the acting general manager for a year yet. Stan Bowman made it where they had zero in 2022 but Davidson turned assets into having three.

That probably means that he is interested in adding more if he were to trade Patrick Kane. Of course, Kane is a player that warrants first-round draft picks in return because of how good he is. There could be a world where he lands them two.

The 2023 and 2024 drafts are both going to be events that are super important for the team’s future. The Hawks would be smart to stock up on picks there so that they can have the best chances of getting the most out of them.

Kent Johnson is the top prospect for the Columbus Blue Jackets right now. He was selected with the fifth overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft. He played his 2021-22 season with the University of Michigan before getting signed and playing nine games with Columbus.

In those nine games, he chipped in three assists and has yet to score his first career NHL goal. Also, only playing nine games means that he didn’t reach ten and burn the first year of his entry-level deal.

The Blue Jackets probably wouldn’t want to trade him (or multiple firsts) but landing Patrick Kane would really help them after having such a big offseason.
