2. Roquan Smith’s story

We didn’t know if Roquan Smith was going to play for the Chicago Bears again.

The Chicago Bears and Roquan Smith don’t have the best relationship right now. He doesn’t feel that they are offering him enough money on his contract based on what he thinks he is worth. For a while, it seemed as if the Chicago Bears were going to be forced to trade their best player.

The fact of the matter is, however, that a linebacker shouldn’t be your best player. It is an important position but it isn’t a game-breaking position like it once was. In fact, it is closer to being a depth position than a game-breaking position.

That is true on top of the fact that Smith isn’t the best at the position in the sport so why would he become the highest paid? The Chicago Bears won this battle though because he is going to accept his fate and play for them this season. As a player without an agent, he probably made the right choice.

Roquan Smith can stick it out and be a part of the next great Bears team or he can go somewhere else. The choice will ultimately become his in the end but it might not get him where he thinks it will. Hopefully, everything works out for the best of everybody.
