Riley Stillman is someone for the Chicago Blackhawks to consider moving.

The Chicago Blackhawks landed Riley Stillman from the Florida Panthers in a big trade a couple of seasons ago. Now, he is signed through this upcoming season and the next one after that at a cap hit of 1.35 million.

That is a decent deal for a defenseman that can eat up some minutes on a good team. He isn’t a star or anything like that but he is someone that can play well on a team that is trying to win. Who knows, a better team might even help him become an even better player.

They wouldn’t get much for him alone but they would get something more valuable than what he is bringing them on a bad team. They could also include him in a bigger deal that involves other players or picks. Contenders value defensemen that are on the market.

Getting a chance to play for a really good team is probably something that Stillman would welcome as he has been in a tough spot during his time with the Blackhawks. They just might be able to make some kind of deal work.

It is unclear what the Blackhawks are going to do before the season with all of these guys or if they will wait until the new year is underway. Either way, it is pretty obvious that a couple of these defensemen could be shown the door in a rebuilding effort.
