As the regular season inches closer and closer, one particular issue continues to stand out for the Chicago Bears.

That problem is a problem which has been apparent all offseason, with hardly anything done to address it: it’s the wide receiver room.

General manager Ryan Poles failed to address wide receiver in a competent matter over his first offseason with the team, and now, the Bears are in even more trouble at the position with injuries taking some of these guys down.

Trading for N’Keal Harry looked good on the surface, as the former first-round pick gets a fresh start to try and prove his worth. However, he’ll be out a few weeks now due to an ankle injury. Byron Pringle is also going to be out a while, as will David Moore.

Right now is the perfect time for the Chicago Bears to trade for another wide receiver.

At the moment, rosters are getting cut down on the daily. Teams are now in the stage where they are looking at the end of the roster and figuring out who belongs and who doesn’t. There will be some good players cut, some of whom the Bears may take a look at.

Chicago may also choose to try and trade for one of these guys who could get cut, or might be an end-of-roster candidate. The positive in trading for one of these receivers is that the Bears don’t have to wait for waivers and hope they land them.

By trading for another receiver, Poles would be showing Justin Fields that he does indeed care enough to help him with his development. Fields needs another weapon or two, and it’s been clear that he won’t get them this year, but instead have to wait until next offseason.

For now, dealing for one of these three receivers (all of whom could be available) would help Fields tremendously.
