Kyler Gordon makes his preseason debut.

The Chicago Bears selected Gordon with the first of the two second-round picks they had in this year’s draft. The young corner missed the Chiefs game with an injury. He returned to practice and is set to make his preseason debut in the town where he had a brilliant college career.

Gordon has gotten the majority of the reps in practice at the nickel cornerback spot. He can play outside corner as well. The Bears’ other second-round pick this year, Jaquan Brisker, had a really good game against the Chiefs.

Brisker has not practiced this week with an injury so he is unlikely to suit up. It will be interesting to see if Gordon can match his fellow rookie’s debut with a good outing.

Velus Jones Jr. could also make his preseason debut.

The Chicago Bears’ third-round pick missed the Chiefs game due to injury. He also returned to practice and appears ready to play in his first preseason game.

The 25-year-old rookie has blazing speed and possesses unique playmaking ability. The Bears desperately need weapons on offense and Jones Jr. has the talent to be a Deebo Samuel-like impact player.

Plus, the Chicago Bears need a punt returner and Jones Jr. possesses the skills to be a dynamic one.
