The Chicago Cubs had a fun time at the Field of Dreams Game as they won 4-2 over the Cincinnati Reds. They played a simple game as neither team hit a home run but they did what was necessary to win the game. It was a great showing on national television.

One of the Cubs players that exceeded all expectations is Nick Madrigal. He has been struggling this season (his first with the Cubs since being traded over by the Chicago White Sox) so it was good to see him have so much success in this one.

Both sides of town would probably agree that the Cubs got the better of the deal as Madrigal will be a decent player for a long time while the White Sox have already moved on from Craig Kimbrel. Having big games like this one will make Madrigal worth it.

In the win, Madrigal went 3-5 with three hits and one RBI. He was one of the keys for the offense as the Cubs came up with four runs to secure the game. He had 30 percent of the Cubs’ hits in this one which shows how important he was.

Madrigal also had a stolen base in this one which shows a bit of speed. He isn’t a prolific base stealer or anything like that but he does have the ability to do so when it’s needed. It just was another thing he did on the big stage.

It isn’t easy to go out there and be one of the best players in a game like this. It was the closest that either of these two teams are going to get to a playoff game and Madrigal stood out. The Cubs need to do what they can to make sure that he is always feeling good at the plate.

When Madrigal is on his game, he can be a legit threat at the top or the bottom of a lineup. He is someone that can be relied on to reach base for the power guys that could come after him in the order. Hopefully, for the Cubs’ sake, he is able to continue playing well and this game serves as a spark.
