3 things the Chicago Bears must do vs. Chiefs in preseason opener

3. Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy should play Trestan Ebner everywhere, and often
After the bulk of the starters have sat down, it will be time for the younger guys to shine. Some guys will be fighting for roster spots. Others, meanwhile, just need some meaningful playing time to further showcase why they’re on the team.
One of those types is rookie running back Trestan Ebner, whom the Bears are going to try and utilize in many ways whether it’s on special teams or as a weapon on offense.
With David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert cemented as key backs on offense, Ebner will be fighting for playing time. But, if he’s as electric as the coaching staff thinks he can be, they will find ways to get him on the field.
On a team starved of pass catchers, Ebner could very well become a part of every game plan. He just has to show out when given the opportunity. Ebner should be a guy the Bears are going to play a lot during the preseason, while trying to ensure Montgomery and Herbert stay fresh.
If all goes according to plan, the Bears will have a 3-headed monster in their backfield.
