Trade Number 4: Roquan Smith goes from the Chicago Bears to the Atlanta Falcons

Of course, we couldn’t talk about a big Bears trade without mentioning Ryan Pace and his new job with the Atlanta Falcons. By now, many know just how many former Bears players the Falcons have added to their 2022 roster. It’s gotten to the point where it’s quite comical.

The Falcons are a team that need some big names and leadership for the future. Getting a Georgia boy like Smith to come home would be a great story for Falcons fans, and Pace could be a huge factor in making that happen. While Smith loves Chicago, going home would be a fantastic opportunity for the All Pro.

One would have to think that, if Pace is going to help get his guy to Atlanta, the stakes would be high. So, in return for Smith, the Bears would get a future first rounder along with two future second-round picks. No other players would be involved, so the Bears would truly be saving the maximum amount of money here.

Again, it’s hard to talk about the Bears saving money when it means trading Smith, but this is just the reality at hand.

Now, the Falcons get a big name to anchor their defense. Meanwhile, the Bears could be headed for a top-3 pick in next year’s draft.
