The Chicago Bears could sign wide receiver DeSean Jackson

We’ve established the fact that the Bears aren’t going to be super competitive, so why not at least make them entertaining?

Yes, DeSean Jackson has been good for his share of hilarious moments over the years. But, the fact of the matter is, Jackson has remained one of the more lethal down field threats in the league so long as he’s healthy and gets the ball in his hands.

We know Fields loves to throw the deep ball, which is something Jackson can handle real well. But, Jackson is also a menace in the open field. He’s someone that Fields could get the ball out to quickly and allow Jackson to do the rest.

Now, Jackson is getting up there in age. He is 35 years old and will be 36 in December. But, you’re looking at a receiver who has averaged 17.6 yards per reception over his entire career, which includes 632 receptions for over 11,000 yards.

Take the good with the bad, here, because Jackson has an “oops” moment every so often. But, with the Bears’ receiving room so thin right now, bringing Jackson in and seeing if he amounts to anything is far from a risk. This is a team that needs help, and desperately. Bring Jackson in, and see if he and Fields connect at all. Worst case scenario is that he doesn’t make the squad.
