3 speedy wide receivers the Chicago Bears could sign with injuries mounting

The Chicago Bears could sign wide receiver Dede Westbrook
The first of these three options is a lesser-known veteran who once ran his 40 in 4.39 seconds. He is the “slowest” of the three guys on this list, but Dede Westbrook is still quick and shifty. He’s somewhat transitioned to being more of a special teams guy, but Westbrook would have an opportunity to show something at receiver with the Bears.
As a fourth-round pick back in 2017 for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Westbrook looked like he could end up becoming a solid piece to their offense. His second and third years in the league saw Westbrook come up with 66 receptions in each, with at least 660 receiving yards.
But, the following season, Westbrook appeared in just two games due to injury. Last year, he caught just 10 passes for the Minnesota Vikings as a rarely-used wideout in that offense.
Over his five years in the league, Westbrook has always offered the ability to return punts, posting a career average of 9.3 yards and even taking one back to the house with Jacksonville.
Westbrook would come cheap, on a veteran minimum type of deal, and without a job currently, he’d have a lot to prove. He’s an underrated, overlooked type of player and, at this stage, would be well-worth hosting in camp.
