The Pittsburgh Steelers should trade for Chicago Bears tackle Teven Jenkins

NFL nut and notable Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Jarrett Bailey, recently saw the news about the Bears fielding calls on Jenkins and tweeted the following.

First of all, getting a third-round pick in exchange for Jenkins would be a dream at this point. It doesn’t seem likely the Bears would get more for a guy in Jenkins’ shoes at the moment. Bailey also mentions tackle Chukwuma Okafor in the deal, who would be a throw-in, even though Okafor is a starter.

Last year, Okafor committed 11 penalties — not ideal.

The Steelers, though, are a team in need of offensive line help, still. Many love to talk about how bad the Bears’ unit is, but the Steelers are way down their in terms of overall talent across their line.

Adding a young player like Jenkins, who gets a fresh start in a winning program, might just be  worth it for Pittsburgh, and the key to kickstarting a career for the former Oklahoma State standout.

The Steelers are amidst a year where they could start one of a few guys at quarterback, but former Bears gunslinger Mitchell Trubisky seems to have the upper hand for Week 1. Pittsburgh also drafted Kenny Pickett in the first round this year, and the hope is that Pickett is the quarterback of the future.
