There are rumors swirling around when NFL Training Camps get underway. That has been no different for the Chicago Bears here in 2022 as they are now dealing with a somewhat big rumor surrounding one of their once highly touted rookies.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network tweeted out that teams are calling the Chicago Bears about second-year OT Teven Jenkins. He is a former second overall pick that the Bears were once really high on due to his incredible talent and potential.

Unfortunately for everyone, Jenkins hasn’t shown up for practice yet so far here in 2022. That is not good news no matter what the reason is. It is fair to assume that it is because of maturity issues because of a few reports out there but he was also very injured to start last season.

Jenkins finally came back late in the season, however, and had some ups and downs. Now, they are trying to get him on the field but it doesn’t seem to be working. As Rapoport reported, he is now on the block.

The Chicago Bears are interested in trading Teven Jenkins as teams are calling.

The fact that the Chicago Bears are listening to these calls makes you wonder if they are actually done with him as an organization for whatever reason. It is certainly something that we have to keep an eye on now going forward.

There are a few teams that would make perfect sense for a guy like Jenkins as long as he shows up. Every team in the league could use some depth when it comes to protecting their quarterbacks. If Jenkins reaches his incredibly high ceiling, he could become elite.

Before the Bears traded up to select Justin Fields in the same draft, some believed that they would consider Jenkins with their first-round pick. Now, they would probably pick someone entirely different in the second round if they could.

For now, the focus of the players on the team needs to be on themselves. This is a developmental year for everyone, especially Justin Fields. Getting him to reach his potential is so important for this franchise.

Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy were in charge when Jenkins was brought in. Ryan Poles and Matt Eberflus don’t have to use him or care to use him if they don’t want to. If he doesn’t want to win them over, they should trade him right now.

Byron Pringle might be a steal for the Chicago Bears. light. Related Story
