3 risky Chicago Bears trade packages for Teven Jenkins
The Chicago Bears are reportedly listening to offers that involve their former second-round pick, Teven Jenkins. It is fair to wonder what a deal for a player like that might look like.
He is a highly talented player that was highly regarded going into the 2021 NFL Draft. The Bears used a second-round pick on him and a few teams considered him in the first round.
Jenkins hasn’t been participating in camp so far and it is reported to be because of maturity issues. That could end up being the reason that the Chicago Bears do in fact end up trading him away.
Ryan Poles and Matt Eberflus have no reason to keep him if he doesn’t win them over as they were not responsible for drafting him.
If they were to make a deal involving him, it might look something like this:
If the Chicago Bears can get a third-round draft pick for Teven Jenkins, that would be a huge win. It isn’t very exciting to get a third for a high-end second-round pick but it is better than seeing him miss practice and potentially become a bust.
Teven Jenkins has a lot of skill but the Bears allowed his injury to heal on their watch and he is repaying them by not showing up. If he went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he would either show up or be cut and embarrassed about it because that is an organization with standards.
Even though he was a second-round pick and the return here would be a third, it is a strong investment for the Bears as they probably wouldn’t get much more. For Tampa Bay, if he did work out there, he would provide depth on the offensive line protecting Tom Brady.
