Blackhawks: This new player has a crazy quote about the coach
The Chicago Blackhawks have made some big-time moves over the last six months or so. They have a new full-time head coach, a new full-time general manager, and have made some crazy trades that suggest that they are fully in rebuild mode.
There is one player, however, that is excited to be a member of this team despite the fact that they probably aren’t going to be doing much winning. That player is Max Domi who signed a contract with the Hawks at the beginning of free agency.
On Twitter dot com, the Chicago Blackhawks released a quote that came from Max Domi about the new head coach. He seems to be a big fan of Luke Richardson heading into the 2022-23 season. It is good to hear that these guys like the new coach before ever even playing for him.
He made it clear that he wanted to be in Chicago the second that they hired him to be the guy full-time. They spent time together with the Montreal Canadiens when Richardson was an assistant coach while Domi was a player there.

Max Domi wanted to play for the Chicago Blackhawks when they hired the coach.
That is so nice to hear. The Chicago Blackhawks players that are already there would love to know that this new coach is going to give them the best chance to be successful. It is hard to see them winning more than they lose because of the fact that they have a bad roster but this could be a nice building year.
Obviously, Max Domi isn’t a part of the long-term plan but he can really help some of the younger players that are there grow their game. If he is on board with the coach as much as it seems that he is, that will help as well because buying into this rebuild is needed by everyone involved.
The culture surrounding the Chicago Blackhawks over the last few years has been pretty negative. There were a lot of off-ice issues as well as the team being about as awful as they can be with the players that they have. With a coach like this in place, things might be able to turn around.
If Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews end up sticking around beyond this year, it could be because of the foundation being started with a coach like Richardson. Maybe it ends up meaning nothing in the long term but this Max Domi quote feels powerful.
