Chicago Cubs. Ian Happ. 8. player. 9. . OF

The Chicago Cubs and Ian Happ have had some ups and downs but he was great.

The Chicago Cubs sent two players to the 2022 MLB All-Star Game. The first one was the aforementioned Willson Contreras who was in the starting lineup. The other was Ian Happ who got to go and be a part of the big event with some of the best players in the world.

He was well deserving of this big moment which will probably be his last one in a Chicago Cubs uniform. They are almost certainly going to trade him before the deadline which is going to be tough to see as he was just starting to really put it all together and become a legit star.

Happ was not on the Cubs squad that ended the 108-year championship drought by winning the World Series in 2016. As a result, he isn’t as loved as Contreras or any of the guys from that core but he was still a really good player that people enjoyed watching.

The New York Yankees are probably out of the market following their trade on Wednesday night but there are plenty of other teams out there that could use some help in the outfield. Happ is one of the best available in that department. It will be sad for Cubs fans to see him go but his time on the North Side is just about up.
