These 3 trade packages send Patrick Kane to the Edmonton Oilers
The Chicago Blackhawks are going to get something promising for Patrick Kane.
With 50 percent retained, Patrick Kane would be such a great fit for the Edmonton Oilers. He could play with either Draisaitl or McDavid and he would look amazing regardless. Based on his ability to pass, Draisaitl might be the actual best option even over McDavid because of Leon’s goal scoring.
Either way, add in a player like Evander Kane who is there as well and you have a power play that should be amongst the greatest in NHL history. They would make a lot of very exciting plays that lead to goals.
That is why the Oilers should consider giving up a lot to get him if both Kane and the Hawks are willing. You already know about why the Hawks would want some high picks in a draft like the 2023 NHL Draft so this is mostly about the prospects here.
The Oilers took Xavier Bourgault with the 22nd overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft so they obviously feel very good about the 19-year-old right now. The Blackhawks would love to add a prospect like this.
As for Evan Bouchard, he was one of the many first-round picks that the Blackhawks should have taken instead of Adam Boqvist in the 2018 NHL Draft. He is a solid defenseman for the Oilers and is only going to get better as he gets older (he is only 22 years old).
Patrick Kane getting traded at all is not something that is for sure but the Oilers are clearly a team that should consider it. If it happens, we can only hope that it makes the future of the Blackhawks better.
