The Chicago Blackhawks could be looking to trade Patrick Kane over the next few months. Keeping him on this roster through the whole 2022-23 season doesn’t make any sense. They have traded a lot of their best players and are clearly rebuilding.

A team that makes a lot of sense for a deal like this is the Edmonton Oilers. They made a pretty surprising run to the Western Conference Finals in 2022 and should be looking to upgrade their team heading into next year.

If they added Patrick Kane to their team, they would have the best top six in the National Hockey League. Everything in Edmonton starts and ends with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Add in a winger like Patrick Kane and you’d see some real hockey magic.

If the Edmonton Oilers were serious about making a trade like this, they might consider letting some good prospects go. It would be even more worth it if Kane signed an extension. These three trades might get it done:

Patrick Kane could land the Chicago Blackhawks something nice at the deadline.

The Chicago Blackhawks would probably have to retain half of Kane’s 10.5 million dollar contract for the remainder of the 2022-23 season so that the Oilers can fit him under the cap. That would be so worth it in order to land a high-level prospect and a first-round pick.

Philip Broberg is an outstanding defenseman that is huge. He was the 8th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft and should be a force in the NHL someday soon. At 21 years old, the sky is the limit for the kid out of Sweden.

If the Hawks also got a first-round pick out of it, they would be winning for sure. The 2023 NHL Draft is outstanding and should be very deep with good players. Paying Kane to play for Edmonton would be so worth this.
